Our Lineage

Syzygy Coven is a lineaged Alexandrian Coven descended from du Bandia Grasail (DBG) Coven, an Alexandrian coven based in the Boston area in the early 1970's. Those downline of this coven are often referred to as being of the "DBG line".

 

More specifically, Syzygy Coven is downline of Coven Chthonioi. Chthonioi and its daughter covens comprise one of the oldest continuous branches of the DBG line. This branch is characterized by, amongst other things, the addition of unique rituals and a progressive and inclusive understanding of gender identity and polarity as it relates to the Craft.

​In Syzygy we are dedicated to preserving the beautiful and profound rites and philosophies that are unique to Chthonioi descended covens, while still teaching and practicing the core Alexandrian material and maintaining close ties to the wider Alexandrian and BTW communities.
